Konstantin Lopushansky.
Born in 1947 in Dnepropetrovsk. In 1970 graduated from the Kazan Conservatoire (violin), in 1973 completed the postgraduate course at the Leningrad Conservatoire (department of fine arts), in 1978 graduated from the Higher Courses for Scriptwriters and Film Directors (class of E. Lotyanu). Was student director during the shooting of A.Tarkovsky’s «Stalker». In1973_ 1974 taught at the Kazan Conservatoire, in 1974-1975 - at the Leningrad Conservatoire. Candidate of Arts. Author of the «Essays on the History of Russian Musical and Critical Thought. 1825_1960», wrote librettos for operas. Since 1980 worked as a director at «Lenfilm» studio. In 1991_1996 was Chairman of the Christian Movie Association of St. Petersburg. Prize winner of international and national festivals. Winner of the Vasiliev Brothers State Award of the Russian Federation for the movie «Letters of the Dead Man». Professor at the St. Petersburg State University of Cinema and Theatre. Merited Worker of Arts of Russia, People’s Artist of the Russian Federation.
